Winooski, Grand Isle, North Hero, Isle La Motte

We had a great day in Vermont today.  We went to Winooski and found a farmer's market, then headed to the islands for a drive and a ride.

This is Ms. Karen J. Lloyd of Nature Heart Studio.  She is a very talented artist and had a wonderful booth at the Winooski Farmer's Market, where she was selling pottery pieces that she made.  She was a lovely young woman and had such great energy about her.

This is a picture of a really luscious booth at the Winooski Farmer's Market.  This couple (hallockbrookfarm@yahoo.com) was so cute and their produce looked fantastic!  I wish I had a kitchen to cook some of it!

This is their baby, behind their booth, tuckered out from a day at the Farmer's Market.  He was so precious.

After the farmer's market, we had lunch at a place called Cupps, owned by Brian and Gretel-Ann Fischer.  Craig had a breakfast sandwich with home-made hash potatoes and fruit salad.  I had a panini and this simple salad with a really fresh and terrific dressing.  Both were delicious.

This is Craig at Cupps!

After lunch we took a drive and went to a few of the islands on Lake Champlain.  We ended up going for a bike ride from North Hero across another island and ended up at Isle La Motte.

This is Lake Champlain in the background, at the causeway to Isle La Motte.

We went off the beaten track a little and found this cute little light house.

Craig being funny.

Such a pretty country lane on the island.

Took this one from my bike.

Also from my bike, over my shoulder!

I loved riding by this guy working on his tractor.

A neat looking little cemetery along the road.

After the ride, we enjoyed a little snack and discovered this pig roaster!

Pa Pa Pete's!  Home of many delectable dishes, including Creamees -- Vermont-ese for Soft Serve ice  cream!

Sweet Fries -- made of sweet potatoes -- from Pa Pa Pete's.  These were awesome and the best snack for the end of the ride.  They were made from fresh sweet potatoes -- so good.
